    Issuing 8,000 permits through the electronic portal of border guards' services.

     

    On Monday, July 9, 2018, Asharqia Chamber held a workshop - represented by the activities of the Logistics Committee- at its headquarters in Dammam in cooperation with the Border Guard Department of the region and the Elm Information Security.

     

    Bandar Bin Rafie Al Jabri, board member and Chairman of the Logistics Committee in the Chamber, said that the workshop witnessed a distinguished presence of the beneficiaries of the platform services in addition to the interested parties.

     He stressed that the workshop had many discussions contributed to the provision of quick solutions that will benefit the attendance.

    The workshop also reviewed some of the platform services and distinctive ideas that provide some development solutions for those services.

    Al-Jabri explained that Asharqia Chamber and the integration with the relevant departments in the region are interested in holding meetings, seminars and workshops to bring all the topics that benefit the business sector at the table of officials and specialists closely, as they are keen to meet the parties on these occasions to talk closely and review what can be developed to serve all sectors.

     

    The workshop was attended by the presence of the engineer Fahd bin Musallat al-Otaibi from the Department of Border Guards, and Fahad Bin Saeed Al Dossary, Customer Relationship Manager at Elm.

     

    It discussed the services provided by the platform such as the development of the imports and exports markets, following up the status of requests, and saving time and effort.

    It is also suitable to provide services at any time and anywhere, and also contribute to reducing the cost of paperwork, dispensing with intermediaries, in addition to raising the security level of the ports.

     

    In a comparative study between the services previously, and after the development through the platform (Zaawel), the workshop confirmed that the service issuing permission required a full working day while shortening the time of completion of service to only two minutes.

    In addition, the number of permits permitted per day was previously limited to 6 permits only.

    The printing of the permits took from one to two days in the past, so that it was shortened to 3 hours only.

    Beneficiaries can also issue permits at any time as opposed to what they were in the past, where the beneficiary cannot issue them on official holidays and outside the official working hours.

    In this context, 8,000 permits were issued through Zaawel platform. And the number of the beneficiaries since the beginning of activation in the eastern region reached 459 beneficiaries.

     

    The companies that will be able to benefit from the services of Zaawel are including import and export companies, land transport companies, related government institutions, delivery and shipping companies, industrial exporting, customs clearance, and companies that have contracts in ports, tourism and entertainment fields.​
